A purple iris adorns the front of this Roland Jordahi Series bluebird nesting box house.
This blue bird nesting box house combines functionality, decorative design, and affordability. The front panel is completely removable.
This Bluebird bird house nesting box is made from 3/4 in. cedar wood with a 1/2 in. PVC front panel covered with 3M Graphic Vinyl (one of the highest grade vinyls - made for outdoor use). A predator guard surrounds the 1 1/2 in. diameter entrance hole. Each front panel has inside grooving to help fledglings access the entrance hole from inside the house. The 4 in. x 4 in. bottom floor is ideal for numerous backyard bird species and is the recommended dimensions for attracting bluebirds. Ventilation is provided with the nesting panels, and drainage spaces on the bottom floor keep the interior dry. Special grooving on the underside of the overhanging roof acts to channel dripping water away from the nesting box. A latch on the bottom of the house allows you to easily clean the interior. Constructed with stainless steel hardware, the house is built to last through many seasons.

Roland Jordahl, in retirement and when health permits, now pursues his favorite activity, that of photographing nature and wildlife. Trips to Europe, Alaska, Florida, and places in between have afforded photographic opportunities from mountains to swamps, and grizzly bears to shore birds. Photographing God’s marvelous creations is his witness to his time. His work has been recognized and published in newspapers, magazines, MN State Park calendars, and other wildlife publications. He has had many exhibits at a variety of locations to include the Lutheran Brotherhood building in Minneapolis, Senator Paul Wellstone’s office in St. Paul, libraries, and others. He has in the past taught photography classes, and is currently a Field Editor for the national Reiman publication of "Birds & Blooms", and does some photography for other magazines. "When photographing nature and wildlife, I work on their terms. I prefer the quiet and solitude of morning and evening hours, and bear witness to the fresh new rays of each day. I realize that I am the visitor when in the woodland, and I tread lightly so as to not disrupt the natural flow of nature. The lighting must be right, the composition explored, and the exposure made at the precise time to capture the beauty, excitement, and expression of each subject." "Good art doesn’t just happen. Only the artist in each of us realizes the sacrifice endured in the creative endeavor. The long hours, the pain, the loneliness, the struggle, the euphoria, the despair, and inner joy that drives one to create objects of beauty are part of life's journey." (Leona Jordahl) Seize the Moment: "Luck is when opportunity meets preparedness". (May 2010)
